Probable cause
The pilot’s failure to obtain the proper touchdown point, which resulted in a runway overrun.

The pilot was landing the airplane on a 3,100-ft-long runway in calm wind conditions. The pilot described that he landed the airplane more than halfway down the runway and applied “firm” braking, but the airplane departed the end of the runway. The airplane’s nosewheel the dug into the soft ground and the airplane nosed over, resulting in substantial the airplane’s empennage. The pilot reported that there were no preimpact mechanical malfunctions or failures of the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
