Read the full NTSB narrative

The pilot was on the first familiarization flight in his newly acquired airplane, having previous experience in a slower model of the airplane. He reported that the taxi and takeoff were normal, but during the climb, the airplane stalled and broke hard to the right. The pilot could not recover from the stall and the airplane impacted the ground, resulting in substantial damage to the empennage, wings, and the front of the fuselage. The pilot reported that there were no mechanical malfunctions or failures that would have precluded normal operations.

Quoted verbatim from the NTSB record.
