On August 21, 2017, at 1150 coordinated universal time, a Cessna 172RG, Bulgarian registration LZ-SPD, operated by Aviootryad Varna Ltd, collided with the runway during a gear-up landing at the Balchik Airfield (LBWB), Balchik, Bulgaria. The pilot and passenger were not injured. The airplane received minor damage. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the Bulgarian government.
