On July 5, 2016, about 1940 coordinated universal time, a Cirrus SR22 single engine airplane, serial number 2558, registry EC-KJO, was destroyed after impacting terrain and obstructions while landing at Cuatro Vientos Airport at Madrid, Spain. The two occupants were fatally injured. The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the government of Spain.
