On September 19, 2014 at 0636 universal coordinated time, a Cessna 172P, PK-MSN, collided with terrain shortly after takeoff from Trunojoyo Airport, Sumenep, Indonesia. The airplane was operated by Merpati Pilot School under the pertinent civil regulations of the government of Indonesia. The airplane was destroyed and the student pilot, the sole occupant was fatally injured. The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Indonesia.
