On May 17, 2010 about 0840 Local Time, a Antonov An-24, registration YA-PIS, operated by Pamir Airways as flight 112, impacted mountainous terrain en route from Konduz Airport to Kabul International Airport. All 39 passengers and 5 flight crew members were killed. This accident is under the jurisdiction of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. The NTSB has been requested to assist the examination and extraction of information from the accident airplane's Terrain Awareness and Warning System.
