On April 9, 2009, about 1030 UTC, a Cirrus SR-22, a personal flight, collided with high terrain at an elevation of about 6700 feet, at Tizintichka, Morocco. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and the airplane was on a VFR flight plan. The pilot and 3 passengers were fatally injured. The airplane was destroyed. The domestic flight departed from Marrakech and was destined for Ouarzazate. The investigation is being conducted by the Administration de l’Air of Morocco. The U.S. NTSB has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative to support the investigation under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13 as the state of manufacture.
