THE STUDENT PILOT ATTEMPTED A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING IN A PASTURE AFTER TURNING AROUND AFTER ENCOUNTERING HAZY WEATHER IN THE VICINITY OF A MOUNTAIN RANGE. THE AIRCRAFT NOSED-DOWN IN SOFT EARTH, CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE.
