A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE OF THE PLANETARY GEAR OF THE TRANSMISSION OCCURRED ABOUT 51 FLIGHT HOURS AFTER OVERHAUL. DURING FORCED LANDING A HARD LANDING OCCURRED SEVERING THE TAIL BOOM. A FIRE THEN ERUPTED.
