IN WAS REPORTED THAT MR. CAMPBELL DEPARTED PERRIS AIRPORT, PERRIS, CA AT APPROXIMATELY 1215 PDT. IT IS UNKNOWN IN WHAT AREA HE WAS FLYING. MR. CAMPBELL WAS SIGHTED A FEW MINUTES PRIOR TO ATTEMPTING TO LAND IN A FIELD NEAR 36875 MENLO STREET, HEMET, CA. A RIGHT TURN WAS MADE AND THE WING TIP STRUCK THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT CARTWHEELED BREAKING INTO SEVERAL PIECES. THE PILOT SUSTAINED SERIOUS INJURIES AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE RIVERSIDE GENERAL HOSPITAL TRAUMA CENTERIN CRITICAL CONDITION.
